Full throttle

풀 스로틀

This refers to the state of maximum acceleration achieved by fully depressing the accelerator pedal to completely open the throttle, thereby allowing the maximum amount of air and fuel into the engine. It is also referred to as "full throttle." The proportion of full throttle sections on a circuit can be used to assess the powertrain dependency of that track.

Frequently asked questions

Does full throttle simply mean pressing the accelerator all the way down?
Essentially, yes. It means the driver is giving 100% throttle input, and the car uses the available power to accelerate as much as possible.
Why is a circuit's full-throttle percentage important?
The more time a circuit is run at full throttle, the more important power-unit performance, energy use, fuel efficiency and straight-line speed become.
