Race Control monitors incidents and dangerous situations and manages operational measures such as flags, the Safety Car, VSC and session suspensions.
Does Race Control directly decide every penalty?
No. Not every incident is decided directly by Race Control. Cases requiring investigation are often referred to the stewards, who review them under the regulations and decide whether a penalty is appropriate.
