Frequently asked questions

How are Super Licence points earned?
Drivers can earn points through their final championship positions in eligible motorsport series recognised by the FIA. The number of points available varies by series, and results over the applicable period are used when assessing Super Licence eligibility.
Are Super Licence points the same as penalty points?
No. Super Licence eligibility points recognise a driver's results and experience, while penalty points are disciplinary points added to an F1 driver's Super Licence for certain infringements.
