In motorsport events, points are awarded based on performance and serve as the criteria for determining championship standings. The winner of an F1 Grand Prix earns 25 points, with points also distributed to positions 2 through 10 on a sliding scale. Additionally, points for achieving the fastest lap are combined to determine the final standings.
