Drafting is the technique of following another car closely to take advantage of its slipstream, where aerodynamic drag on the following car can be reduced. This can help the trailing car gain speed on a straight and prepare an overtaking attempt. In other words, drafting is the act of deliberately exploiting the slipstream effect.
