This refers to the percentage of electrical energy currently remaining in the battery (energy store) of an F1 race car. It is similar to the battery level concept of a smartphone. Drivers can monitor the State of Charge (SoC) in real-time via the steering wheel display and decide, based on the engineer's instructions, whether to conserve energy (Recharge) or to use it aggressively for overtaking (Deploy).
